Bringing Your Own Beats: How to Add Local Music to Spotify
Have you ever recorded a track yourself, found an obscure song that isn’t on streaming, or downloaded an unreleased remix, only to realize it’s missing from Spotify? Instead of jumping back and forth between different music players, you can actually import your own audio files straight into your Spotify library.
Spotify calls this the Local Files feature. While you can’t officially upload songs to Spotify’s global public catalog as a regular listener (that requires a music distributor), you can easily weave your personal audio files into your playlists on both desktop and mobile.
